This new video which Adweek Magazine posted about (second after Exame.com) is a new Leica "100" advertisement video, relating to the Leica 100 year centennial and opening of the Leica Gallery in São Paulo, Brazil. It recreates 35 historic Leica photos and it's extremely well done - a must-see at any rate!
This is the making of shooting, which took place in Havanna, Cuba in the Summer 2009 to create images for the new Leica S2 brochure. the photograph pictured is Maik Scharfscheer.
Leica S2 is not really a medium format camera by traditional standards. Its 37,5 megapixel (7512 x 4992 pixel with 6µm pitch) sensor is 45x30mm, which is a half of the common 645 frame. However, its fast (up to f/2.5) high-performance lenses and proprietary digital signal processing used instead of a low-pass filter are claimed to compensate for the greater DOF and possibly lesser detail forced by the sensor. Wim Wenders is the person who really influenced me to purchase my first digital M after watching this video
